This is one incredibly beautiful and rare set created by Alice Caviness. I have owned the bracelet and brooch for quite some time and was finally able to find the matching necklace, which is extremely hard to come by. It is actually pictured on a well-known jewelry web site as part of their logo and when I inquired about the piece I was told that the necklace was no longer available because it had been placed in a museum!
This set is beautiful in both design and construction. The majority of the pieces of this set are made from bezel set glass tiles in colors of deep blue lapis, rich hued carnelian and emerald green. The tiles are open back, allowing the light to shine through and providing a lovely glow. Rhinestones are sprinkled throughout in matching colors, to add a touch of sparkle and shimmer. The set is featured on page 26 in "Jewels of Passion" by Sherri Duncan.
The necklace measures 15-3/4 inches in length at the inside measurement. The front bib extends down 2 inches at the deepest portion. The bracelet measures 7-1/2 inches in length and 1-1/2 inches in height at the widest portion. The brooch measures 2-1/2 inches diagonally.
All pieces are in excellent vintage condition with some light scratching and wear to the gold tone metal in the back. The stones are all present and sparkling; the tiles are free from chips but some have very light wear to the surface, yet still remain shiny and vibrant. The necklace and bracelet are both signed "Alice Caviness" in plaques on the back.
