Some of Trifari's best designs were created by Alfred Philippe in the 1940s. This fur clip is a wonderful example of the stunning artistry of this masterful designer. A red lily, depicted in enamel, is captured in profile looking as if it was just picked. The center of the flower boasts an array of bezel set clear rhinestones and the finishing touch is the addition of enameled leaves gracefully wrapped around the long floral stem. Truly a beauty!
The fur clip measures 3-1/4 inches in height and 2 inches in width at the widest point. It is signed "Trifari" on the back of the clip and "Des. Pat. No. 125422" which dates it to February 25, 1941. It is in excellent vintage condition with the enamel almost pristine, and with all the rhinestones present and just a few darkened. This is a magnificent piece for the avid Trifari collector or anyone who wants to own a little jeweled masterpiece.
