This beautiful 979 is 23" tall and even though she was produced before the character movement the Simon & Halbig factory was producing dolls with a lot of personality. Her bisque is wonderful, without hairlines or damage. She has smooth brows over her lovely eyes, which are a very unusual color. They are almost a teal blue that are paperweight and set. The noses on the 979s have a very narrow bridge and gave them a distinctively different look. She has an open mouth with darker accent lines, two upper and one lower square teeth (one is broken a bit, like a child with her teeth coming in). Her ears are pierced and she has an antique pate and human hair wig. The body is unusual. It has a mechanism in the torso attached to her walking legs so that when the legs 'walk' the squeaker inside her torso cries and it works pretty well. The hip section is covered in leather, which is original. There is a tear on it and some tape residue, but nothing that causes any problems and could be covered if you choose. She is wearing an antique dress of a heavy silk fabric and laces. The shoes are antique and in very good condition and she wears pantaloons and a slip.
These 979s don't come along very often, and certainly not in a walking/crying body. All together she is a fabulous example and ready for display. Shipping costs are estimates and overages will be reimbursed. Thank you for shopping at Bunny's Babies
