This delightful finger ring scent bottle is in outstanding condition. The body of the bottle is done in the shape of a shield with it's front surface inlaid with three different types of hard stones bordered by patterned sterling rims. The backside of the bottle has then been adorned with lovely, well defined, large scrolling leaves on the sterling surface. The bottle has been finished with two scrolling handles attached to chains leading to the finger ring.
The stones appear to be carnelian, a dark amber/green patterned agate and bloodstone. The stones all have a high polished surface, are intact and appear to be original. You can find as expected some pits and fissures to their surface. The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, holes, dents, deep scratches or repairs. The chain and finger ring appear to be the originals without repair. The lid is a screw on that works with smooth movement and has no stripped threads.
The marks are on the neck of the bottle and are tiny and somewhat worn/blurred. They are the lion for sterling, city mark of Chester and F date mark for 1889. The actual bottle measures 2 inches tall by 1 1/4 inches at widest point through handles by 7/16 deep. From the base of the bottle to the top of the finger ring it measures 3 3/4 inches tall. A very attractive scent bottle in wonderful condition for your collection.
