This Art Nouveau pin has a very interesting design that is in wonderful condition. She is posed in the classic profile position with the flowing and curling waves of hair. But what I love about this pin is her face and especially her exotic hairband. She has a lovely and well defined face with all of her facial features being very discernible. She has a more womanly look with a strong personality to her, not the common young blushing beauty. Her hairband is fabulous and fits so well with that personality as I think it gives her a somewhat warrior woman feeling, just perfect for being worn by a man or woman.
The gold is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks, nasty scratches, abrasions or repairs. The pin hinge, pin stick, C clasp and watch hook are all the originals in smooth working order. The pin stick has a good point and a faint curve. Just before the point area of the pin stick is a rub mark where someone tested for gold content that I am reported for accuracy. The pattern definition is superb with deep accent lines and some minute pattern work to define all elements of the design.
The marks are on the backside and are 14K and a L & A makers mark for the William Link Co. who for a short time became Link & Angell around 1900. The pin measures approx. 1 1/8" long x 7/8" at tallest point and weighs 3.6 grams. An excellent Art Nouveau pin in fabulous condition at a great price
