This 20's pin is delightful with it's neoclassical cherub plaque collar mounted in an openwork frame consisting of tiny hearts with a notched rim outer border.
The 1 3/16" long x 5/8" tall oval Wedgwood plaque is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, scratches or nasty abrasions. The white raised scenic relief is all intact with no missing areas or chips. There is a minute fine hairline (smaller then 1/32" long) across the physical right leg of the 2nd. cherub who is holding the torch. The hairline doesn't extend into the blue jasper plaque. This is a common flaw in jasper items that I am reporting to be accurate. The plaque is very secure in the pin's mounting.
The gold is in excellent minus condition with no rips, cracks, holes, scratches, nasty abrasions or repairs. The bottom rim on the left side is slightly out of round by probably an approx. 1/64". As there is no damage to the gold or broken pieces to the thin gold wire creating the hearts I can only assume it was original to manufacture, possibly when crimping in the plaque. The pin hinge, pin stick and locking clasp are all the originals in working order. The pin stick has a good point and is fairly straight.
The backside of the plaque has the "WEDGWOOD" signature and the clasp has a 14k mark. The pin measures approx. 1 1/2" long x 7/8" tall.
