This Edwardian ring is in outstanding condition. It's classic design is still as popular today as it was hundreds of years ago. In the center you find a stunning oval rose tourmaline that is surrounded by fourteen European cut diamonds (approx. 2 pts. ea.). It's design's size is perfect for that ring finger on a petite woman or teen and would still be great as a pinkie ring for a larger hand.
The gold is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, cracks, holes, scratches, abrasions or repairs. The shank is nicely in round and still has a good density at the bottom. The faceted tourmaline is a beautiful deep rose that I am going to describe as raspberry in color. It is so bright that we think it may be heat treated. It has no chips, cracks, nasty scratches or abrasions. With a 10 power loupe you can find some extremely minute flea bites that don't even measure 1/64" in diameter. The diamonds are approx. 1.5mm in size and total 1/4 ct. They are not opaque, brown or gray, but have a lovely brightness and are well matched in color. They all appear to be the originals as I see no disruption to their prongs.
There is a bit of a mark on the interior of the shank that was applied at an angle so it is unreadable. Rich has acid tested and will guarantee a minimum of 14kt. The ring measures on our pole to be a size 5. It's top design area measures approx. 1/2" tall x 3/8" at widest point
