This lovely pendent is in outstanding condition & appears to have been rarely used. The front of the pendent has an attached design piece comprised of multiple shapes accented with black enamel, half ball cultured pearls & hand engraving. The top outer rim of the pendent has also been accented with hand engraving. The designer then completed the pendent with a good sized leaf like bale & a dangle with a twisted fringe.

The enamel is in excellent condition with no missing color showing base gold. With a 10 power loupe you can find an occasional, faint surface only scratch/nick. The half pearls all appear to be the originals & well matched in color. They are a light gray as is often found in Victorian pearl accents. The bale is a fold down to hide when piece used as a pin. The bale, it's hinge, the covered style C clasp, the pin stick & it's hinge all appear to be the original & are in smooth working order. The pin is very straight with a good point. The front design piece is firm in it's original attachment. The gold has no chomps, rips, dents, deep scratches or repairs with one exception. On the backside of the dangle you can see repair. It appears to have been dented some how during it's life & you can see the remains of the crease, two approx. 1/32" holes in a back & side rim & a bit of added gold for repair. But from the front view when wearing the piece it is not seen!

The backside has an approx. 1 1/16" x 11/16" area for the photo. The photo rim is there, well rounded & firm in it's fit. If you lift it to insert a photo make sure you keep the same placement of top & bottom. These were usually hand crafted to fit the piece only one way. The photo cover is there in excellent condition with no visible chips or nasty scratches. Also on the backside are the marks placed just below the hinge of the bale. They are defined in photo # 7. Minus the dangle & bale the solid area of the pendent is of good size being 1 3/4" tall x 1 1/8" at widest point. As a pin it is 2 3/4" tall & as a pendent it is 3 3/8" tall. Including the photo window the pin / pendent weighs 15 grams.
