This watch pin has a nice design feature of two different finishes to the front surface of the pin. The flower and lady's skin has a satin/mat finish while her hair has a high polished surface accented with a small rose cut diamond. Both the flower and her hair contain raised relief detail to simulate textures and curves.
The pin is made of double wall construction meaning it was two pieces with the solder joining becoming the pin's side rim and the center being hollow. The gold is in excellent minus condition with no cracks, rips, dents, holes or abrasions. You can find that faint overall surface scratching from use as can be common to antique jewelry. There is also what appears to be scratched in initials of DK on the backside. The top rim of the pin has a couple spots where the satin/mat surface does not extend completely to the edge (bottom insert photo # 4). As the pin is double wall construction we can only assume that those were created when the pin's solder side rim was polished smooth.
The pin hinge, pin stick, C clasp and watch latch are all the originals in working order. The pin stick is comprised of steel not gold as is sometimes found in antique jewelry. It has a good point and a bit of a curve from usage. The C clasp show a bit of beefing up on it's curved top. This form of repair never bothers us as we want that clasp to be firm. The backside has two holes that are original to the pin. Their purpose was to allow heat to escape when solder work was done. The rose cut diamond appears to be the original and is firmly seated in the pin.
The bottom backside of the pin contains two marks, a 14k gold purity mark and a makers hallmark we didn't identify (top insert photo # 4). The pin weighs 4.9 grams and measures 1 1/16" tall x 1" wide.
