This pin contains a wonderful floral design with the famous Jensen hand hammered surface. This pin is assembled from 15 separate silver parts. The two flowers have a faint dimensional definition and soft curves due to the hammered surface and lightly raised fine accent lines. The center of the pin contains three collar mounted lapis cabochons with the larger oval having a ruffled rim on it's collar.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks, nasty scratches / abrasions or repairs. The pin hinge, pin stick and locking clasp are all the originals in smooth working order. The pin stick is nicely straight and has a good point. The cabochons have no cracks, chips, nasty scratches or abrasions. What can be perceived as white chips in the lapis is NOT chips. Lapis has pyrite in it which causes spots having a metallic shine. The white is not white, it is the pyrite reflecting!! The oval stone is approx. 9/16" long x 3/8" tall and stands approx. 3/16" above the bottom of the collar. The smaller round stones are 3/16" in diameter and stand a hair under 1/16" above their collars.
The hallmarks are on the backside as seen in the photo. They are the earlier impressed Jensen oval and the GI marks used 1915-1930. There is also a 925, Sterling, Denmark and the 236A which is the pin design/model number. The pin measures just a hair over 1 1/2" long X 7/8" at tallest point. This particular Jensen pin is hard to find with stones in it.
