This large pin contains that classic Jensen organic design. The pin has some lovely dimensional definition, soft curves and lightly raised fine accent lines. The center of the flower contains a good sized collar mounted cabochon with the addition of four smaller cabochon stones at the flower's outer rims. Just super design as expected from Jensen.
The silver is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks, nasty scratches / abrasions or repairs. The pin hinge, pin stick and clasp are all the originals in smooth working order. The pin stick is nicely straight and has a good point. The clasp is a very unusual covered form of C clasp. I took two pictures of the clasp (inserts last photo). The cabochons have no cracks, chips, nasty scratches or abrasions. All five stones are original as there is no disruption found to their collar mounting rims. The center large stone appears to be carnelian and is approx. 3/8" in diameter and stands a hair over 3/16" tall. I used the flower petal base for the measurement as the collar mounting has a ruffled edge rim pattern. The smaller stones are garnets and measure approx. 5/32" in diameter and stand 1/16" above their collars.
The hallmarks are on the backside as seen in the photo. There is the GI 830 S oval (830 silver content) and the earlier impressed Jensen oval both dating from 1915-1930. Below these marks is the 99 which is the design/model number of the pin / brooch. The piece measures 2 3/4" long X 1" tall at the center.
