Georg Jensen Sterling and Hematite Cuff Links Cufflinks # 44A - Circa 1965
I think these Jensen cuff links have a stunning look. It isn't the usual organic floral influenced design that the majority of Jensen jewelry incorporates. They have a very bold look with their oval hematite cabochon simply mounted in a collar with an additional oval outer ring. A tasteful, elegant design that is extremely masculine and ultra modern. The 3 different shades of the silver color, polished-dark grey patina-hematite stones, reminds us of a sleek sculpture or an abstract painting.
The sterling is in excellent plus condition with no rips, dents, cracks, holes, nasty scratches/abrasions or repairs. The back cuff lock has a nice original 360 degree movement. The cabochons are also excellent plus with no cracks, chips, nicks, scratches or abrasions. They are highly polished which gives hematite a shiny metallic charcoal gray appearance.
The marks are identical on both links with "925 S DENMARK" and the Jensen oval hallmark on one side and "44 A" on the other side. The oval fronts measure approx 13/16" long x 5/8" wide x 3/8" deep with the cabochon standing approx. 3/16" above it's collar. The back cuff lock is 3/4" long x 1/4" at widest point (center). At there in the Jensen jewelry world is a matching hematite ring.
