Georg Jensen Sterling and Moonstone Pendent # 63 - Mark for 1933-44
This Jensen pendent is extremely attractive and very feminine. The upper portion of the mounting has a layered dimension of pattern and the lower portion contains a collar mounted dangling moonstone cabochon.
The sterling is in excellent plus condition with no rips, dents, cracks, holes, scratches abrasions or repairs. The chain is the original and is comprised of round and oval handmade links fitting in well with the somewhat oval design at the bottom of the pendent. The clasp is the famous toggle style that the Jensen company often used in the earlier years. The cabochon moonstone is one that is blue gray in color. It has no cracks, chips, nicks, scratches or abrasions. It is definitely original to it's collar mounting and is approx. 7/32" in dia. and stands 1/16" above the collar.
The marks are on the backside as seen in the photo. They are the G inside the J rectangle (1933-44), Sterling, Denmark, 925 and the model/design # 63. The closure ring also has a 925 mark. The pendent measures just a hair under 1 1/4" tall x 13/16" at widest point and the chain is 18" long. Pre WWII pendant necklaces are very hard to find and are often sold at auction for prices very few can afford. This one is nicely affordable.
