This is a lovely bracelet and very well designed. The base sterling bracelet appears to be cast and has been done with a super running scrolled leaf pattern on both side rims. The top rim holding the 38 stones in place has a light mil-grained edge pattern. The visible portion of the carnelian square cut stones have soft, curved beveled rims leading to a small curved top table. There are six sections holding 5 stones each and two sections with 4 stones each as they also contain the clasp and hinge. Separating sections are six mil-grained rimed squares each holding a marcasite.
The sterling is in excellent plus condition having no cracks, rips, dents, holes, abrasions, scratches or repairs. The hinge and clasp are both original in smooth working order. The clasp is quite firm and definitely stays closed. All of the carnelian stones are in excellent plus condition with no cracks, chips, nicks, abrasions or scratches. With inspection with a loupe I found one stone having a smaller then 1/32" bite to the bottom of a beveled rim. All of the stones appear to be the originals, firmly seated and are well matched in color. The six marcasites are without cracks or chips and are prong mounted.
The sterling mark is on both interior halves of the bracelet (top half photo # 4 red ^). The bracelet measures approx. 3/16" wide. It's interior oval is 2 1/2 wide x 2" tall. I have a 6 3/4" wrist and can wear it very comfortably. This is the only quartz mounted sterling bangle we have ever seen and we consider it very rare.
