This hand carved cameo stick pin is in superb condition and has always been a stick pin. The cameo is very nicely done with a lot of green and a touch of pink and lavender high lights in the opal. The opal is one whole stone, not a dublet, triplet or layered in any way

The gold is in excellent condition with no cracks, rips, dents, holes, scratches, abrasions or repairs. The pin has a faint curve and a good point. The cameo is also excellent with no cracks, chips, scratches, abrasions or repairs. With a loupe you can see a couple speck like bites to rims that appear to be hesitation marks original to carving. There is a hair smaller then 1/32" nick on the edge rim of the cameo located between her nose and lips. I can't see it with my eyes, I have to use the loupe. The cameo stands up from the collar by just a hair under 1/8".

The pin stick has marks of: A58860 the model number and a makers mark of a Bell with an A inside, then what appears to be a & symbol and then ?? - possibly Abel and Bros. Co.? The cameo is 7/8" tall x 9/16" wide with the stick pin being 2 1/2" tall. There are no gold purity marks so Rich acid tested and will guarantee a minimum of 14kt.
