This S.H.M. & Co. ring # 02? has a Kate Greenaway girl using the ring as a drum with one drum stick in her hand and the other below the ring. The piece has no cracked or missing metal and the plate is the original in very good condition. You do see some spotting of darkening to the surface of the plate which is oxidation due to age. You can see from the photos there is still lovely shine to the plating. The girl has a sweet face and the classic Greenaway bonnet. The center of the actual ring is lightly recessed and has a Victorian diamond cut style leaf pattern between two border patterns. There is an appropriate Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co. impressed mark on the base. The model # 02? is slightly under the price tag. The only thing I could find to report is that the actual ring is slightly out of round with some minute bites on it's edge rims. The ring measures approx. 2 3/4" tall x 2 7/8" long.
