James W. Tufts Quadruple Plate Figural Napkin Ring - Circa 1885
This Tufts ring # 1546 is adorable and in super condition. Note the bashful cherub standing beside his ring. He has no cracked or missing metal. His plate appears to be in outstanding condition. He was probably replated 20 or more years ago by an experienced plating company. The ring's pattern work is very well defined and has no engraving. His face, hair and wings all have great definition work and even his belly button is evident. The ring has an appropriate Tufts impressed mark on the base. The only thing I could find was a bit of out of round to the base rim evident in photo # 8. The ring measures approx. 3 3/4" tall x 2 3/4" at widest point (wing to outer ring edge).
