The subject of this table top kitty is delightful with his mischievous play in Grandma's knitting. The bronze is very well done with outstanding texture on the fur, yarn and knitting. He has a very realistic illusion of body movement and a really sweet face.
The bronze is in excellent condition with no cracks, gouges, broken-missing pieces or repairs. Even the knitting needles are original and still there. The cold paint surface is fairly intact and does show wear as expected due to age. His back, tail and head are approx. 4 shades-black, dark brown, gold and beige. His face is primarily the gold color and he has green eyes. His tummy, chest and interior legs are approx. 4 shades-cream, a couple beige tones and some speckling of black. The knitting and ball of yarn has the most wear and shows light remains of blue.
The bronze stands 2 3/4" at tallest point (tail) x 5 7/8" long x 2 1/4" deep (ball yarn to back of knitting). The bottom of the knitting has the only marks found, a M.S, as seen in last photo. A wonderful piece for a bronze or cat figurine collection.
