This bangle has a great look to it's front half. The design of the cast open work pieces and the pattern of their top surface is very interesting. To me the open work has a strong arts & crafts flavor and the patterned surface has a hand hammered look. Alternating between the four larger open work pieces are three collar mounted light rose tourmalines. In the center of the open work pieces are four spike and glue mounted cultured baroque pearls. At both ends of the open work are two smaller additional patterns. As you can see in the photos the bracelet has a graceful graduating width with the narrowest area being the center backside.
The gold is in excellent condition with no cracks, rips, dents, holes, nasty scratches, abrasions or repairs. All of those open work patterns are intact and firmly attached. The bangle is surprisingly very sturdy. You would think it would have a bit of wobble with all of that open work and it does not! The faceted square cut tourmalines are in lovely condition with no nasty chips or scratches to their top surface. They measure just a hair over 1/4" square in size and are well matched in color. When inspecting with a 10 power loupe you can see an occasional minute surface bite or scratch. You will also find natural interior inclusions as expected. The baroque pearls are approx. 1/8" in dia. (3mm), are a well matched ivory in color and have no chips or cracks.
The bangle has no gold content marks so Rich acid tested and will guarantee a minimum of 14kt. gold. The bracelet weighs 14 grams with the gemstones intact. It is a true bangle, slip on only, no hinge. The interior oval is 2 5/8" wide x 2 3/8" tall. A lovely bangle for any hour of the day.
