Baby cups are just a great and fun collectable. We feel this delightful cup was for a boy as the three animals depicted are often found in adventure stories. We have a buffalo (the wild west), a giraffe (african safari) and a camel (desert excursions). On either side of the giraffe is engraved presentation of "C" and "W".
The sterling has no holes, rips, cracks, deep dents, deep scratches, abrasions or repairs. The top rim of the cup is nicely in round being off by only an approx. 1/16". You will find that the base rim has a bit of un-even surface but no large or deep nasty dents. The cup handle is hollow and does have some surface indentations that have flattened it's curve. I would have to call the largest a shallow surface dent being 3/8" x 1/4" x an approx. 1/32" deep. The interior and exterior of the cup has that all over fine scratching/scuffing that silver acquires from use and cleaning with old style abrasive cleaners (see the photos). The pattern definition is in excellent condition with deep lines giving you a very easy viewing of the design.
The marks are on the base of the cup as seen in the photos. They are the R. Wallace & Sons hallmark, "STERLING" and the cup's model/design number. The cup measures 2 1/4" tall x an approx. 2 7/8" diameter top rim. A more unusual cup for that baby silver collection.
