This delightful napkin ring has a beautiful open work border. It is comprised of alternating downward and upward sprays of curlicues giving the ring an evenly spaced scalloped rim. The pattern has lovely curves and half balls giving it a soft dimension. The border has been hand attached to a center 3/4" wide flat ring of polished silver. The interior ring has no presentation and has never been engraved. The ring is in excellent condition and has great shape being within an approx. 1/16" of roundness. You will find as can be expected a bit of light surface scratching on the center rings surface from use and old style cleaners. I only found two things to report. One joint for the border to the center ring has a top surface only crack and there is an interior indent aprox. 1/32" on the center ring's edge rim that caused the rim to pooch out (see photo # 7). But there are no holes, rips, deep scratches, abrasions, nasty dents or repairs. The marks are on the interior as seen in the insert on photo # 7. They read the Frank M Whiting hallmark, STERLING, 314 (the design/model number). The napkin ring is nicely substantial and sturdy and weighs 1.02 ozs. It measures approximately 1 5/8" tall with a 1 11/16" diameter.
