I feel like this napkin ring is a great blending of Victorian and Art Nouveau design. It has a wonderful top and bottom border pattern. The rims are done with a tiny scalloped edge created from the border patterns of a running motif of scrolling leaves alternating with a somewhat top of a Victorian architectural pillar. The pattern has great depth, detailing and all over dimension. The center portion of the ring has been done in a light satin finish with four sprays of lightly raised delicate five petal flowers and tiny leaves. The ring has un-patterned areas to allow for presentation but has never been engraved. The ring is in excellent condition and has great shape being within 3/32" of perfect roundness-it was used but not abused. You will find as can be expected a bit of un-even surface (last photo-red arrows) from a few tiny faint lined and pin point sized indentations as well as light surface scratching on the un-patterned surface from use and old style cleaners. But there are no cracks, holes, rips, deep scratches, abrasions, nasty dents or repairs. The marks are on a bottom interior rim as seen in the insert on photo # 7. They read the Simons Bro. hallmark, STERLING, 1315 (the design/model number) and 1 1/2 IN. The napkin ring is nicely substantial and sturdy and weighs .97 ozs. It measures approximately 1 1/2" tall with a 1 5/8" diameter.
