This wonderful watch pin is classic Art Nouveau and in superb condition. Her hair style is outrageously inventive, her facial feature are wonderfully intact and the fine accent lines thru out are extremely well defined. The Kerr Company along with Unger Bros. are considered by most dealers to have done some of the best Art Nouveau items of the time period.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, nasty scratches, abrasions or repairs. Her facial features are without dimples or holes. She is double wall construction meaning she was stamped out then a flat sheet of sterling was soldered to her back side, so she is hollow! Those two minute holes on her backside are original to allow heat to escape during solder work. Her pin hinge, pin stick, C clasp and watch hook are all original in smooth working order. The pin has a bit of a curve, probable original as it is over the watch hook. On the photo of the backside of the pin on it's top left rim you can see a bit of a burr. It is not a repair but appears to be original to manufacture. A solder point they did not polish down well as it could break the seam.
The marks are on a Kerr circular plaque on the backside. It contains the Kerr hatchet, STERLING and 1968 (the pin's design number). The pin measures 1 11/16" at widest point x 1 1/4" at tallest point. A wonderful Art Nouveau pin for wearing or a Kerr collection.
