Georg Jensen Sterling Bracelet # 53 GI Mark - Circa 1925
This Jensen bracelet is very stylish and has a lot of work in it's manufacture. With Jensen's inventive way of depicting nature in so many of his designs I am sure this bracelet's links are suppose to represent an oval bud with stylized leaves on each side. But I have a very different take on it's design. I see it as extremely stylish bows with wonderful dimension alternating with oval "jewels", very feminine. My bow's are made up of two identical links placed in mirror image. Each link is comprised of three layers with well rounded and graceful curves. Separating the bows are the "jewels", in this version, sterling collar mounted oval beads. The clasp box is also an oval bead keeping the continuation of alternating pattern links.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks, nasty scratches, abrasions or repairs. All of the oval beads are well rounded and firm in their collars. The oval connector rings between links all look to be originals. The flange fit's in it's box with a good click and stays firm in it's closure. The bracelet has it's original figure 8 security clasp that is firm in it's closure.
The marks are on the backside of the closure box as seen in the photo. The bracelet measures 7 3/8" long minus the closure flange and is a 1/2" at it's widest point. A lovely Jensen bracelet suitable for any hour of the day or night and a nice length.
