This German made pin will look great in either a horizontal or vertical position on a lapel, shoulder, rolled collar or at the base of a neckline. The pin has lovely pattern definition. The lines of the geometric pattern have mil-grained rims and the roses have a wonderful height. Each end of the pin is accented with 3 marcasites of two different sizes. The center focal point of the pin is a beautiful, rich, brick colored rectangle of carnelian with beveled and faceted side rims.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no cracks, rips, dents, holes, scratches or repairs. The pin hinge, pin and locking clasp all appear to be original and are in smooth working order. The pin is fairly straight with a good point. The prong mounted marcasites all appear to be original and are all there. The carnelian stone is secure in it's mounting and has no cracks, chips, scratches or abrasion on it's surface. With a 10 power loupe you can see a minute speck sized bite on a facet rim that I am reporting to be accurate.
The marks are on the backside as seen in the photo. There also appears to be a makers name stamped into the pin close to the hinge but is not readable. The pin measures 2" long x 11/16" at tallest point. A lovely vintage pin, in outstanding condition at a super price!
