Gucci 18Kt. Gold Necklace With Enamel Accented Indian Heads
This circa 1980 necklace has three American Indian Chief plaques. The plaques have been silver soldered onto their identically shaped frames. The center one is approx 5/8" in dia. & the other two are almost 1/2" in dia. The plaques have been accented with free flow colored enamels. Due to the fact it is a flow on enamel it is close to impossible to tell if any is chipped or missing. But if I would have to take a guess I would say it is a good 98% there. With a loop I feel there is some loss to two feathers on the center headdress. The chain portion of the necklace is made up of slightly curved flat bars enabling the necklace to have a great stable fit around the neck & collar bones. Stretched out straight it is almost 17" long. We find no repairs to gold or enamel. Clasp has the Gucci reversed G's symbol. One of the bars is also marked. The 750 mark is European for 18kt. gold.
