This wonderful vase is a good height and it is very substantial in the base & vase's top rim diameters. More importantly it is a very bottom heavy design. I can easily imagine 1-2 dozen roses artistically arranged in this vase and you would have to have "Catzilla" for a pet to knock it over. It stands 10 1/2" tall but has a base dia of 5" & a top rim dia of 5 5/8". It's finish is gold favrile but you can see from the photos it has a multitude of rainbow like color changes from every aspect of the color wheel, lots of platinum and electric blue. Depending on your lighting photo # 6 (natural light in my home) can be very accurate. The glass is in excellent condition with no nick, chips, cracks, deep scratches or repairs. You will find some of the normal swirl lines, stretch marks (for want of better word) & brownish spots/lines you can usually find in favrile & aurene finishes (see photo #9). On the exterior of the vase I can find occasional scratching ranging from very, very faint (hardly any drag on my nail) to a definite scratch. They measure from 1/32" to about 1/8". The blown top rim is in excellent plus condition with no nicks or repairs (photo #7). It does have finish abrasion (photo #9) consistent with usage. On the interior, right next to the rim, are three original indentation lines (1/4"-3/8"-1/2"). I don't know if they are tool marks or blowing flaws (photo #9), but they are original to vase! The interior of the vase has definite scratching from floral stems starting approx 1 1/4" down from rim (photo #9). There is also hard water deposit in the lower interior half of the vase. The base of the vase is a dore (a form of gold plating) bronze circular pedestal with a textured pattern. The bronze is in excellent condition with no rips, tears, dents or repairs. The bottom has the Tiffany Studios mark (photo # 8) as well as what appears to be the original screw for connecting base & vase. The plating on the top of the pedestal is a lovely rich gold color with an all over black age spot speckling. The bottom of the base has scratching/abrasion to plating consistent to use on a table. Would look stunning on your entry or dinning table filled with beautiful flowers. Circa 1900. We just recently found someone who did an interior clean up of this vase. The calcium deposits are now all gone. The vase will show very well when empty.
