I love the alternating shaped links on this bracelet with the large one having a slight illusion of a four pointed star. The center 3 large links and 2 smaller links all contain European Cut diamonds that have a total of .50ct. What I also really like about this bracelet is that every join point is done with a sturdy 1/2" tall hinge not a ring or stiff solder joint. The only exception is the last link to the closure flange which is a 5/16" hinge. It's quite different, very imaginative and gives the bracelet great flexibility.
The gold is in excellent plus condition with no cracks, rips, dents, holes or deep scratches/abrasions. Of course with close inspection you can find a touch of normal and expected scuffing to the surface of the links due to usage. But the bracelet was worn with love and care not abused!. The hinges are all intact, in smooth working order and appear to be the originals. The security chain appears to be the original but I think it's spring ring could be a replacement which is common due to age. The closure has a loud click and stays firmly closed. It's flange has had it's end tip beefed up. The 5 diamonds all appear to be the originals and are earlier Europeans. They are recessed and ball prong mounted into a design of an 8 pointed star on each of their links.
The bracelet weighs 25 grams and has no gold or maker marks which is common for the time period. Rich has acid tested and will guarantee a minimum of 14Kt. gold for the bracelet. The security chain has not been tested as a rubbing could destroy the chain's link. The bracelet measures 6 5/8" long minus the closure flange and is 1/2" wide. A lovely Victorian period bracelet for that woman or teen who enjoys antique jewelry. If you own one of those Victorian lockets with the star and diamond accent in it's center this would be a wonderful companion piece.
