This lovely circa 1935 set is in all original condition with no repairs to enamel or sterling. The base enamel is a vibrant medium toned aqua placed over the engine turned (a form of machined pattern) sterling. It was then hand painted with shades of rose, blue & green in a floral with a blue ribbon accent. When viewing enamel with my eyes, rubbing with my fingers & then confirming with a loop I found surface only use to the enamel. IE: Some surface scratching & some abrasion (see photo # 6) to all pieces & an approx 1/16" surface only flake shaped chip on the edge of the comb (see photo # 5). No sterling showing thru any of this!!! This is all normal wear. The sterling is in excellent condition with no repairs, holes or dents. I did find normal rough edges from crimping in brush. A 3/32" long shallow line indentation on the backside of handle of the mirror (see photo # 7) . And occasional normal shallow pin point size indentations & minuscule 1/32" dimples that are from use. The set was used but never abused! The entire set has a lovely floral & leaf like pattern accent on the sterling. It's pattern is still very visible but some areas of fine definition lines are blurred due to old style abrasive cleaners. All 3 pieces are marked with the Saart hallmark & Sterling. The presentation areas have never been engraved. The mirror appears to be the original beveled mirror in excellent usable condition. It has some age specks, a small surface 1/5" surface scratch, a 3/10" long age streak at bottom left & some spider webbing under bevel at base area (see photo # 8 for streak & webbing). The brush is full with no missing bristle insert areas & the bristles are firmly attached with no fall out when I ruff it up. The brush base is firmly seated into the brush. The probable celluloid glued on cover between the bristles & base is intact with no rips or missing areas. It's rim is loose in 2 spots along the top left in an approx 2 1/4" long span (see photo #9). The comb is a modern faux tortoise replacement professionally inserted. The mirror is approx 12 1/2" long x 4" at widest point. The brush is approx 10" long x 3 3/4" at widest point. The comb is 7 1/2" long x 1 1/2" wide. A wonderful set in excellent minus condition to use or decorate the bedroom or guest bath.
