These Medallion nut picks are in excellent condition. Note the crisp and well defined pattern of the soldier in the medallion. His facial features are superb as well as fine detailing in his helmet. The only thing I could find was some of the picks had worn detail dots in the thin visor above his forehead as well as a couple with worn dots in the small front ear flap. All 12 of the nut picks have their original ends intact. The silver plate is in overall excellent condition. Ten of the twelve picks are smooth to the touch through out. Two of the picks have some light roughness/loss of plate on their backsides (see photo # 6). On one pick the area is 9/16" long - on the other it is 1 3/16" long. Again this is just light roughness and loss of plate NOT corrosion or rust. The backside of the picks have the marks as seen in the photo and read: "REED & BARTON 2" as well as "PAT. DEC. 29. 1868" . The nut picks measure approximately 4 5/8" long with the medallion top being 5/8" wide. A great set of early nut picks in a popular motif by a well known, established company at a super price.
