Not only is this ring beautiful with its classic Art Deco design but it makes a great statement on a finger due to the length of its design. The row of five diamonds through the center of the ring has each diamond prong mounted within an octagon shaped border. The remaining smaller 16 diamonds are again prong mounted and placed in bordered patterns of curves and diagonal boxes. Strategically placed between all of the bordered patterns are small open work areas in geometric shapes consistent to the Art Deco design. As a wonderful focal point through the center of the ring you find four rectangles in the shape of an X containing synthetic blue sapphires. The sapphires are square cut and channel mounted.
The platinum is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, cracks or repairs. The diamonds all appear to be the originals and are well matched in color and brightness having lovely sparkle and life. The row of five diamonds are mine cuts and measure from the center out 50 points, then two 30 pointers and then two 15 pointers. The 16 remaining small diamonds are approximately 2 points each. This adds up to approximately 1.72 carats of diamond weight. As the stones were measured mounted in the ring with a diamond gauge Rich will guarantee a minimum of 1.65 carats. The twelve faceted synthetic sapphires measure an approximate 1/16 inch square and are well matched with a deep blue coloration. When inspecting the ring with a 10 power loupe I found one sapphire whose side facet was chipped (see over exposed insert photo # 7).
The interior shank of the ring is marked "PLATINUM" as seen in the photo. The top of the ring measures approximately 1 5/16 inches long and is a size 7 on our size pole. An impressive and classic Art Deco ring that truly does make a statement on your hand.
