We believe this unique pin to have been a custom piece for the wife of a wealthy stable owner done in their racing colors . It is done with quality workmanship & lovely gems. The entire pin tests as 18kt gold. The 17 tiny (next to the pearls) & the 15 larger rose cut diamonds are a total of 1.7ct. A lot of times rose cuts are very gray or cloudy, these are not! They are very clear & bright. There are 15 oval cut sapphires & a cabochon sapphire at the center top of the jockey cap weighing a total of 2.5cts. The 18 natural half pearls in the horseshoe are a beautifully matched cream color. They are probably fresh water naturals. Their value is in their beautiful matching color & size as an accent to pin. Their monetary value is not high. We find no gold repairs on piece and all stones appear to be original. The only marks found are an identical hallmarks on both the original C clasp & actual pin as shown in photos. Pin is European in origin circa 1860. It measures 1 1/4" tall x 1 1/8" wide. An absolutely beautiful pin in superb condition for someone who loves unique jewelry or a horse enthusiast. Please read ABOUT US & TERMS OF SALE.
