Our lovely Art Nouveau lady's profile is placed on top of a lily pad and then surrounded on three sides by buds and flowers. She is repeated four times with connected identical patterned disks that are graduated in size. The motif is only on the front of the disks with the backside being flat and un-patterned.
The sterling is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, holes, deep scratches or any repairs. All of the connector rings, the latch and it's chain appear to be the originals. The latch movement is in working order and quite firm. You can see some rounded and textured surface at solder joints as can be normal. If the smith smoothed off to much solder the joint became to fragile and at some points could remove pattern. All the joints have been viewed with a loupe and are believed to be original. The pattern definition is excellent with good height and well rounded curves.
The inside of the latch has a faint "STERLING" mark and the smallest disk has the Unger Bros. hallmark on it's backside as seen in the photo. The largest disk measures approx. 1" in dia. with the smallest being approx. 9/16" in dia. From the tip of the latch to the base of the largest disk is 4 7/8" long. A lovely piece in super condition for an Unger, an Art Nouveau or a fob collection. Even better it can still be used by that man who carries a pocket watch or a lady can attach the latch to her favorite chain making a great Nouveau necklace.
