This lovely ring is comprised of a true 20's antique gold mounting as well as an European Cut diamond. The top of the mounting contain well defined engraved pattern lines as well as open work cut outs. I wish my photos did justice to the pattern work. The cup holding the diamond just isn't comprised of 6 prongs but has a shape with nice height and also contains open work patterns.
The gold is in excellent condition with no rips, dents, un-patterned holes or repairs. It's lower shank area is starting to become a bit thin from wear. The diamond is of European cut and is a minimum of 40 pts and is approx. 3/16" in diameter. For those of you not familiar with points a 1/2 ct. is 50 pts. The stone has nice sparkle as European cuts do and the stone has a gray tone.
The ring measures a 6 1/2 on my size pole. The interior has a makers mark of "LK" but no gold content. Rich has tested and will guarantee a minimum of 14kt. A great antique solitaire for a teen, an engagement on a budget or a woman who just wants a simple, tasteful ring for her right hand.
