Beautiful very well detailed onyx cameo pin/pendant in super condition. The carving was done by an excellent, experienced craftsman. Note the thickness of the carving - a lovely face, curls in her hair, a hat with veil, jewelry and a dress with pattern and fabric drape thru the bosom all tastefully done.
The wonderful gold mounting has three colors. I took the cameo outside to natural light to verify. Her top rim is a light rose; the leaves at the 3 & 9 o'clock positions are a very, very light green & the balance of the mounting is two shades of yellow gold. Above her head are three connected diamond shapes that contain three half seed pearl accents. There are two things to report regarding the mounting. If you look behind the left pearl diamond you can see a tiny gold ball, the identical ball for the right diamond is missing. If you look at the rose gold rim, 3 o'clock position, you can see a tiny nick with a bit of a rough edge Someone may have done a gold test on the front of the rim instead of the backside. The pin hinge, stem and two part C clasp with pin point cover are all original and in working order. The bale may be original or added. If added it was done by a goldsmith with great imagination. as the bail, when not in use, tucks firmly into the back of the frame. Most importantly the bale is the right decor style for the cameo. It's hinge is without repair and is in working order. It has just a hair under a 1/8" hole so it will take a good sturdy chain giving excellent support for the piece.
The cameo is in excellent condition. Our Victorian lady has been viewed with a 10 power loupe. She has no cracks or chips found anywhere thru out all of that detailed carving. Even her facial features are perfect. The only thing to report is on the black stone edge, again at 3 o'clock, is a 1/16" long x a 1/32" plus surface chip. It appears that when that person did a stone rubbing to gold test he/she also created the chip. The balance of the black background has no cracks and just some often found edge rim roughness or bites. The pendant has no marks found as is common to the time period. Rich has acid tested (from the backside) and will guarantee a minimum of 14K gold. With the bale extended the cameo is 2 1/8" long. The stone cameo measures 1 13/16" long x 1 7/16" at widest point.

We offer layaway for individual or multiple item sales over $200.00.
Your 1st. payment is due upon confirmation of your Purchase Order & each following payment is due on that date each month. Payments include shipping (free in USA - Buyer to pay for International) & tax if a State is charging for internet sales. If you cancel or return your layaway item you will be mailed a check for your refund minus Paypal fees as applicable as Paypal does not refund their fees. Please Note: A cancelled layaway Paypal fees are covered in the 10% cancellation fee. Payments must be made on time or we reserve the right to cancel your layaway & refund your money minus all fees. Your item will be shipped within 2 business days upon receipt of final payment. If we will be out of town doing a show at the time of your final payment we will notify you in advance to make alternate arrangements. We will honor Ruby Lane's site wide return policy for our layaways minus any Paypal fees.
