This is a particularly nice version of the Caribe (Native American) character from Daniel Defoe's 1719 novel Robinson Crusoe, "Man Friday". The brass is brightly gilded and the pearl background is very colorfully iridescent. The button measures 1 & 7/16" in excellent condition.
