For the pearl button collector, this is a hard-to-find 18th c. jeweled carved pearl. The pastes, all in cut down silver pave settings, are bright and lovely--a great deal of craftsmanship in one inch! I have seen two of these in years of buttoning. The 1" size suggests a gentleman's sleeve button with surprisingly little wear on the pastes. The hand carved beaded edge is perfect. It has a domed shank plate &a heavy gauge flat copper wire loop.
