This is a late 19th c. Japanese translucent enamel on sterling silver--and they (the Japanese artisans) don't make them like they used to do! The hues of this button are much prettier in life than on the scanned image. The little bud seems to glow. (Scans really flatten the effect of enamel over finely detailed silver.) Also, the leaves are more green than yellow, as they appear here. That said, it measures 1 & 1/2" (a whopper for this genre) and has magnificent marks from top to bottom on the back. These flower are called Plumeria but for all we know, they may be good old Japanese cherry blossoms :)
