As fine Limoges enamels go, this is a huge brooch--1 & 3/4". The surface is slightly concave; the metal is silver-plated copper. The enamel itself looks older than its setting. The Renaissance young man in brilliant foils stands against a starry night sky. It's a really beautiful example reminiscent of the earliest Limoges work in colors. The enamel is in excellent condition; the bezel is losing a little plate, but it is not really noticeable without a loupe. The clasp is a curled C.
