These large 1 & 1/2 by 1 & 1/4 inches vintage Hobe earrings are made with art glass "mayorka petals", circa 1960s. The glass is translucent and looks like pate de verre.; the rhinestones simulate peridot. These are larger than many of the earrings with these glass elements. Other makers like DeNicola, Haskell, Marsella, Vogue, and Carnegie also used these petal-like glass stones. They are fun (though expensive) to collect because they come in a great variety of colors (saphiret for instance). These appear never to have been worn. They are sure to become more collectible. Mr. Stones doesn't carry them yet!
