This is a pair of relatively modern cuff buttons from the early 20th century. They are designed for use in cuffs or as shirt studs. They still live in the original jeweler's velvet box. They each measure slightly over 1/2" (9/16") and both are in excellent condition. Button collectors like these as well because the connectors are convertible/detachable to make a vest buttons. They are marked 14 karat gold, even the connectors, and are in excellent condition.
