This is a vintage 1960s poured glass butterfly by Hattie Carnegie. Carnegie's poured glass, I think, best imitates the lamp work glass jewels by the French House of Gripoix because the glass adheres tightly to the gold-plated brass frame. The frames always look hand-crafted instead of (like Trifari) mass stamped. I have seen a similar bug in deep blue, but the piece is unsigned and not as nicely constructed. It measures 2 & 1/4" by 1 & 1/2", the gold is rich and unfaded, the condition is excellent.
