You can read about enamelist Colette (Denton) online. I was fortunate to have a few of her pieces in gold over years. Most of her work now is in museums or private collections. (I will add a picture here of one of her gold enamel pectorals.) I was shocked to find this brooch online because I did not know Colette worked in silver. The element of the eye appears in other of her works and in the one I am sharing here. This measures 1 & 1/2 inches on each side. The artist may have been referencing the mystic William Blake: To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, hold Infinity in the palm of your hand and eternity in an hour. Excellent condition, and rare rare rare.
