This is a very lovely and large 3 by 2 & 1/2 inches late 19th c. pre-Raphaelite style Arts and Crafts brooch of exquisite quality. The subject is so beautiful and the foil under the enamel is abundant and rich. It is almost perfect--only 2 small light rubs by her chin. It is a strong Arts and Crafts style in bronze--dark lovely bronze--very meticulously made. It is signed LIX--or is it marked 59 in Roman numerals? All I can tell you is it is an exceptional piece of Limoges-style enamel jewelry. I have never seen another remotely like it. Now watch--tomorrow there will be 25 of them listed :) Kidding.
