Lacy glass is thought to be of Bohemian origin, late 19th or early 20th century, reknown for its metallic back paint and lacy pressed front surfaces. The color layer is usually painted over with black or silver paint to preserve it. This large 1 & 1/4" bright yellow daisy petal bordered lacy glass is the promise of spring captured in glass. The delicately pressed pattern is enhanced with bright silver luster imitative of cut steels. The central portion that looks quite dark really is not. there is no russet hue at all. Except for the hint of the shank, the appearance is uniform light yellow with bright sparkly silver. It's in very fine condition.
