This is a really high quality, heavy sterling silver set without a maker name. Each piece is marked Pat. Pending and Sterling (on the base of the brooch--very hard to see). The Mexican man in sombrero is taking an afternoon nap under a jewel-trimmed umbrella. The brooch is in its original paint, measuring 2 by 2 by 1 inches. It is very weighty. The matching sombrero earrings are lighter and measure 7/8". The clips are very good. The set doesn't look like it was ever worn. I can only recall that my mother, who loved gold antique jewelry, once got a costume Mexican brooch as gift in the early 1960s and never intended to wear it :) The quality is akin Trifari or Boucher; the weight is more like Reja! I have never seen this set in my many books.
