It is hard to date these jargoon brooches because they have been made at least since the 18th century in India. The jargoon is a zircon. These are rose cut (mine cut) stones with the hue of pale aquamarine. They are very sparkly because zircon has a high refractive index. Each stone is hand set in cut down bezels. This was common in 18th century pieces, but as I said, I think they were made thoughout the 19th century too. The silver is all hand pierced (cut out) and chased into branches and leaves. The clasp is a simple C. 1 & 3/4" by 1 & 1/2".
