This artisan crafted size 8 ring is jeweler inscribed with artisan name, weights of stones, karats of gold, and the date 2000. I bought it and another sapphire ring by the same artist that year. I wear a 6 carat Ceylon oval sapphire. This one, while gorgeous, is not my shade. The mounting is practically a large tube setting that lets no light in under the stone. When the sun hits it, it has a very rich deep blue color-it almost glows. It never looks black, like poor sapphires, and you will see it is royal blue. The stone is a whopping 5.35 carats; diamonds equal 0.39 carats. The diamonds, also bezel-set, are their own little light chambers and are super bright. It's a practical (no snagging) ring in red, yellow, and white gold. The shank has a decorative twiggy like overlay. I can't read the artist's name--looks like Burrick.
