Exquisite is the word for this piece. It is from the 1800's, hand painted and marked. The porcelain is whisper thin and beautifully detailed with leaves and flowers that decorate her scarf. The eyes are not painted but wonderfully defined showing full details. The woman wears a scarf and her hair is painted as coming toward her face. The egg shaped head is topped by a large flower in the back of her scarf. When placed in a window light filters through the piece and casts the details so they may be viewed from the front. Just under 6" tall in the back, 3.5" in the front, 10.5" around, 2.75" across the base. There is the number 1263 or 7263 incised on the bottom and several markings I cannot make out. The the following is hand painted on the bottom: "R:16186." Also a faint red stamp of a red circle on which I can make out the letters "STF" there are more letters but they are under the hand painted number. Another piece that defies imagination as to how it survived undamaged all these years!
