Norwegian Enamel Jewelry Artist – Silversmith, Knut Andreas Rasmussen worked in Oslo during the mid 20th Century Modernist Period. Offered here is a bold and beautiful Hallmarked example of his work. This shapely abstract bracelet in a fabulously rich glimmering sky blue hue shows the highly textured pattern of the sterling silver underneath the transparent guilloche enamel.
The 7 ½” long by 1 ½” tall cuff bracelet is well hallmarked .925 Sterling-Norway – with the tiny hourglass maker’s mark identifying it as positively an original work by Knut Andreas Rasmussen, very frequently referred to as Karl A. Rasmussen. Many well listed pieces of Rasmussen’s enameled jewelry are available to view online this design was produced as pins, earrings and more rarely as necklaces and bracelets in various colors.
It is composed of 5 tapered and arched shield shape links connected to each other with jump rings. Each of the links measures 1 ½” tall by 1 ¼” to 1” wide as they taper bottom to top. This taper gives the top of the cuff a larger circumference than the wrist end of the cuff making it very comfortable on the arm. Applied decorative small balls or Brutalist beading create a pattern reminiscent of a stellar constellation showing above the vibrant blue enamel background.
The hidden box/tongue closure is in perfect working order and you can hear a satisfying snapping sound as it catches. The cuff is in excellent condition showing no scratches, chips, dings, bends, rubbing or signs of alteration or repair.
There is a very small amount of vintage patina on the bracelet’s inner surface which I can easily clean prior to sending it to you. Please mention that you would prefer no tarnish when you place your order.
I offer a two month (items over $595 three month plan) payment plan should you choose: 1/2 upon purchase order, then 1/2 a month later. Other terms might be possible so please ask if this doesn’t suit your needs.
